WANT to learn the basics of watching classical concerts?
The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) invites youngsters (ages 10-13 years old) as it presents the Young People’s Concert entitled “The Adventures of Adie and Pipo” by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) under the baton of Agripino “Nonoy” Diestro, to be slated on July 9, 2009, at the CCP’s Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) at 9:00 am and 11:00 am.
The program includes Lucio San Pedro’s Mga Katutubong Awitin and Rossini’s William Tell.
As part of the Center’s Arts for the People Program, the concert is patterned after Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, which aims not only to stimulate the children’s creativity, but also to develop their understanding of symphonic music in a concert setting. The youngsters will also have the chance to acquaint themselves with the four major families of instruments. Certain musical terms will also be explained during the concert. The PPO is scheduled to have outreach tours in various popular malls and villages around Manila starting September this year.
Ticket Prices: P200 (students) / P400 (non-students).
For more information, please call the CCP Marketing Department at 832-1125 loc. 1800-1806 or the PPO Office at 832-1125 loc. 1608/1610
