Tunog Wunderground concert goes full throttle
TODAY is the last day for voting, so Tunog Wunderground rallies Pinoy pride once again for the third installment of the concert series with performances from Radioactive Sago Project, Up Dharma Down, Rivermaya, Sabado Boys (Luke Mejares, Jimmy Bondoc, Paolo Santos, and DJ Myke), and Sitti.
As the competition gets intense with only a day left, the Puerto Princesa Underground River tops among the 28 entries vying for the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Both the local and global voting community enlisted the Pinoy natural wonder in the top 10 finalists alongside (in alphabetical order) the Dead Sea, the Grand Canyon, the Great Barrier Reef, Halong Bay, Jeita Grotto, Jeju Island, Komodo Island, Sundarbans and Vesuvius.
According to Bernard Weber, President and Founder of New7Wonders, “Clearly Asian Finalists are strong at this stage, reflecting the way the world is evolving east, and at the same time I know the actual top 7 will change in the coming days. We remain excited and intrigued to see who will emerge as the provisional New7Wonders of Nature on 11/11/11.”
Simultaneous with the free concerts, voting centers were set up to encourage the public to vote on line or through text. Cellular phones and all-expense paid trips for two (2) to Puerto Princesa will be raffled off to lucky voters.
The culminating event will be on November 10, at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall with Franco, Nina, Aiza Segeurra, Radioactive Sago Project, Noel Cabangon, and many more.
Tunog Wunderground, a music festival in support of the bid of Puerto Princesa Underground River as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, was launched last June 5 at the Quezon City Circle.
Spearheaded by Noel Cabangon, Wunderground United is supported by celebrities and personalities such as Christian Bautista, Lourd de Veyra, Tado, Ogie Alcasid, Diether Ocampo, Karylle, Dingdong Dantes, Yeng Constantino, Nina, Rhian Ramos, Jim Paredes, Jericho Rosales and Kate Torralba.
