ANNE Curtis is still in a state of disbelief after filling the Big Dome to the rafters for her first major concert last month. Would she do it again? “My dream was just to have a concert and na-fulfill ko na ’yun,” she beams. “Although may world tour pa ’yung concert, we will bring it to Cebu first. Let’s see how it turns out. But a repeat in the same venue, baka ’di ko na kaya (laughs).”
What’s her advice to aspiring singers who, like herself, are not exactly blessed with strong pipes? “Dream big,” she quips. “My dream came true even if I wasn’t a professional singer. So I want to inspire people to pursue their dream, too. Attitude and determination lang ’yan.”
How did she and boyfriend Erwan Heussaff spend Valentine’s Day? “He cooked dinner,” she says. “Then we watched Audrey Hepburn movies.”
Does she see herself spending the rest of her life with Erwan? “I really hope so,” she says. “I’ve never felt this happy and peaceful. But as of now we have no marriage plans yet.”
As the new endorser of Century Tuna Flakes turned another year sexier last Feb. 17, what lessons in life and love has she learned? “To practice the art of deadma,” she says. “Let go of any negativity. Always find time for love, no matter how busy you are. It’s all a matter of balancing work and love.”
Anne’s got her hands full, and her heart runneth over as well.
Getting there
Just like Anne, Derek Ramsay is Century Tuna’s Super Bod. Will he soon give his body, heart, mind and soul to Angelica Panganiban in marriage? “We’ve been together for five years now,” he muses. “And as they say, when a couple survives the critical first five years that’s a good sign. So I guess we’re on the right track and we’re getting there.”
Ah! The itch to get hitched. Derek and Angelica’s love has truly made them scratch beneath the surface and find joys their hearts had never known.
Pinoy twist
We gave Star Cinema’s Unofficially Yours a “B” rating at the Cinema Evaluation Board. Although the movie was patterned after the Hollywood films Friends with Benefits and No Strings Attached, it has a Pinoy twist to it, thanks to Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz’s talent and charisma combined. They have such great chemistry, I almost forgot Angel has Phil Younghusband and Lloydie has Shaina Magdayao.
Angel is in full bloom in the film even with minimal makeup. Lloydie has truly mastered that “little boy lost” portrayal. The supporting cast blended well, too.
The romance
Didn’t Phil get jealous of Lloydie because of all those steamy love scenes with Angel? “Phil is very supportive,” Angel says. “He knows the theme of our movie so he understands the need for intimate scenes.”
Would she go for casual relationships, as her character in the film does? “For me, relationship and commitment are inseparable,” she explains. “You cannot have a successful relationship without committing 100 percent to your partner. ’Pag wala, nandyan ’yung tampuhan at magkakasakitan kayo.”
How’s that for a post-Valentine thought?
